Thank you for your interest in our school. Open events for entry to Year 7 in September 2018 will take place in September/October 2017. We believe these open events will give you a good insight as to what it means to join the Becket Keys Church of England School community and we look forward to welcoming you and answering your questions. For further details and how to register for these events, please see below.
Open Mornings – parents only
These events provide a ‘grown up’ opportunity for parents to see the school during the day and ask detailed questions in a more quiet setting. Parents can focus and concentrate on seeing the school for themselves without worrying about their children.
For these reasons we ask for children not to accompany you to the morning visits. Moreover, we would not want them to miss out on their primary lessons! However, children are of course very welcome to attend our Open Evenings, when they will also have the opportunity to meet our students and teachers.
Please arrive at main reception by 9.15am. There will be a tour of the school, followed by a Headteacher’s talk in the Main Hall. The morning will finish at approximately 11:15am.
Open Evenings – children welcome
These events provide a lively and engaging insight into life at Becket Keys Church of England School. We partner families up with existing students from the school who can show you around and answer your questions. Many of the tour guides will be Year 7s who can tell you from their recent experience what it has been like to transfer to our school.
The open evenings run from 5pm to 8.00pm. The Headteacher’s talks will be at 5.15pm, 6.00pm and 7.15pm in the Main Hall. (Please note, you may attend any of the Headteacher’s talks)
Guided tours with our student tour guides will leave from Reception in a constant stream between 5pm and 7.00pm. Alternatively, families can make their own way round the school and find their own route.
If you are driving to one of the open day events we ask that you park elsewhere and walk to the school. There are plenty of car parks in Brentwood and also there is parking along the Doddinghurst Road and at the Brentwood Centre. Very limited parking is available in the school car park and in Sawyers Hall Lane, but we ask that wherever possible these are reserved for disabled visitors.
Please do not make repeat bookings for other Open Mornings/Evenings. We anticipate significant demand for these events and wish to accommodate all families who would like to visit.
