Outstanding GCSE Results at Becket Keys

Today was the day that students came to Becket Keys Church of England School to collect their GCSE results.  As with the recent A level results day, the school ran the event as close to ‘business as usual’ as possible. A large number of teachers and staff came in today to be a part of this special day and in order to congratulate and support students.

Students received the school’s best ever GCSE results based on rigorous teacher assessments, using a range of data including mock examinations taken in school.

Mr Scott-Evans, head teacher, said, "The day went extremely smoothly despite the extraordinarily difficult and challenging background to this year's grading. Staff and students have worked tirelessly this year to overcome the problems the pandemic has thrown our way. On-line lessons, extra time after school and on-going assessment over several weeks have all paid off."

Mrs Downs, Chair of Governors, said, "We have delivered a set of results that the whole school can be incredibly proud of. We know our students have been able to show the world what they can do and despite everything, they have flourished once again. I am so impressed and delighted with these exceptional results. We are looking forward to welcoming most of our students back to our Sixth Form in September and we wish those leaving us well with their next steps.”

In line with an agreement made with all schools in Brentwood, we are not announcing our GCSE results. However, there are many students who have secured fantastic grades in their GCSEs and we are able to share some of their success stories here.
